Bagedyst-Rosa knew that his son-in-law, Jonas Vingegaard, would pick up the yellow jersey in this year’s Tour de France

Jonas Vingegaard has cycled directly into the yellow jersey and into the hearts of the Danes.

Vingegaard’s heart itself has gone to Trine Marie Hansen, who is the daughter of the former ‘The Great Baking Contest’ participant, Rosa Kildahl.

And the latter was never in doubt that the son-in-law would pluck the yellow jersey.

– I probably thought he would come in yellow this year, and now he is here, it sounds from the proud mother-in-law, who is certainly in no doubt:

– He keeps it. There is no reason to give away anything you have received, says the baking contest darling, who continues:

– He also deserved it.

Jonas Vingegaard and his girlfriend, Trine Marie Hansen, have Frida together for almost two years. And Frida is – like the rest of the family – proud.

– She is very proud of her father, and loves to hug him when he comes in, says Trine Marie Hansen, while she holds a tired Frida and another Tour de France lion teddy bear, which the riders get by winning a stage.

– We must soon have bought a trailer for all the lions, says Trine Marie Hansen.

Jonas Vingegaard has cycled to the yellow jersey. This is the seventh time that a Dane has done so. The last time this happened was in 2007. At that time, it was Michael Rasmussen who plucked the prestigious jersey.

Known in ecstasy
If you take the trip around on social media, you will also see that the celebrities cheer (almost) as cheerfully as the family.

TV host Sofie Linde, for example, shares Ekstra Bladet’s winning article and a set of emojis that clap merrily, while actress Pilou Asbæk also cheers on her Instagram profile: ‘Jaaaaaaa! Hooray Jonas Vingegaard. Congratulations’, he writes.

The pop guy Hjalmer Larsen, the actor Dar Salim, the hitmaker Andreas Odbjerg have also cheered on Denmark’s cycling hero.

Of course, the politicians have not held back either, and there are praise and congratulations to Vingegaard from both the right and the left. Mette Frederiksen, Jakob Ellemann, Pia Olsen Dyhr, Søren Pape, Pernille Vermund, Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Alex Vanopslagh have all as one applauded Vingegaard’s performance on their social media.
