The Reina Sofía Museum entrusts Ikea with the design and creation of several of its spaces

The Reina Sofia Museum and IKEA have signed an agreement for the patronage of the interior design project consisting of the design and creation of different spaces in the cloister of Floor 2 of the Sabatini Building from the supply and installation of furniture, complements and accessories by the company.

Thus, the main headquarters of the Reina Sofía, which is made up of the Sabatini Building and the Nouvel Building, and with a total area of ​​approximately 84,000 square meters, has counted on Ikea to “update and create common spaces” that serve as a rest area for the public and provide these areas with “comfortable, efficient and multifunctional options” furniture.

“The proposal aims to transfer a feeling of home to the museum environment by incorporating the Scandinavian essence (functional, accessible and welcoming) and adapting it to the needs of a high-traffic space through practical, versatile and comfortable solutions“explains the art gallery in a statement.
