American pop star Olivia Rodrigo has founded its own festival, the performers of which are only female artists or bands with a female soloist.
The event, called Daisy Chain Fields, will take place on August 29 in Irvine, south of Los Angeles.
The festival’s performers are artists and bands representing different genres and generations, such as Chappell RoanGarbage, Doechii, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie NicksBikini Kill and Olivia Rodrigo herself.
The income from Daisy Chain Fields is directed to the activities of charities working for women and girls. Festival tickets was sold to the end on Thursday in half an hour.
Rodrigo has said that he got inspiration for his own festival from the Lilith Fair festival organized at the end of the 1990s, where the biggest female artists of that time performed.
The Lilith Fair festivals also generated money for charity.
Good Morning American in the interview, Rodrigo says that he asked Canadian Sarah McLachlan, who once started the Lilith Fair festivals, to be the first performer at Daisy Chain Fields.
Rodrigo is known as a fan of 1990s alternative rock, and he has named the singer of the band Bikini Kill as his hero Kathleen Hannanwhich appears in Daisy Chain Fields.
Also from The Cure Robert Smith is one of Rodrigo’s inspirations. Smith performed together with Rodrigo already in the summer of 2025 at the Glastonbury festival in Britain and again at the beginning of June at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Smith also appears as a soloist on Rodrigo’s new album.
