With 1,000 guests: Taylor Swift’s giant wedding

The time has come: After almost a year of waiting, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey finally got married yesterday (Friday) in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York. Swift and Kelsey, both 36 years old, celebrated the wedding with about 1,000 guests which included, as expected, quite a number of celebs.

According to those close to the couple, Swift and Kelsey did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Taylor’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her Man of Honor, and Jason Kelsey was his brother Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony was performed by none other than Adam Sandler, a friend of the couple, and after they were announced as husband and wife, the words “JUST&T MARRIED!” appeared on the giant screens outside the hall.

Among the guests seen in New York on the way to the celebration were Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, the Chaim sisters, Ellie Goulding, Benson Boone, Hugh Grant, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, Zoe Kravitz, Jason Sudeikis, Ethan Hawke, Jimmy Fallon and Tommy Hilfiger.

The evening before the wedding, the two started the celebrations with an intimate meal with family and friends at the Infosys Theater in the Garden complex. Among the close ones seen in the smaller lineup were best friend Lena Dunham, songwriter Jack Antonoff who wrote some of the bride’s most notable hits, Abigail Anderson, Swift’s childhood friend known as her best friend, and of course industry bestie Selena Gomez, who shared a selfie from the car on the way.

Ahead of the wedding, insiders said that Madison Square Garden “underwent a significant change”, as already on Monday many trucks were seen outside the hall, with workers bringing in equipment, grass and decorations. Boxes were also seen outside the compound with the words “Garden Party” and “Mirror Ball” written on them. And if that’s not enough – on the wedding night, the Empire State Tower was also lit up in blue for the occasion.

A day before the wedding, a representative of Swift told PEOPLE that Swift and Kelsey donated 26 million dollars this week to various charities, including Feeding America, the ASPCA and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Swift and Kelsey announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on August 26, 2025, with photos from the garden proposal. In the photos, Kelsey can be seen kneeling and the two hugging after the proposal. In the photos, Swift presented the engagement ring that was made especially for her – an 18 carat gold ring with a diamond between 7-9 carats, estimated to be worth at least half a million dollars.
