The fourth season of Alone Australia was filmed in Finnish Lapland

The Embassy of Finland in Australia also told about it in an Instagram update published on Monday.

In his home country of Australia, the two-hour opening episode of the fourth season was seen last Wednesday, when it was watched by 227,000 viewers, says TV Tonight.

Series previous seasons have been filmed in Australia and Tasmania.

According to SBS, during the production season, the contestants had to survive in nature completely alone without any outside help. Among other things, the participants had to encounter predators living in northern Lapland and find food in an environment where “one wrongly identified mushroom can turn a meal into a deadly one”.

Executive producer of the series Riima Hence told Sydney Morning Heraldille the fourth season to be completely different from what has been seen in the series before. The typical features of the survival show with psychological games are again present, but according to Daher, for this production season, the whole concept had to be turned upside down.

“We moved survivors from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere to see what happens,” Daher tells the magazine.

Daher describes to the Sydney Morning Herald that the contestants found it difficult to find food, especially in the area where winter came and reindeer grazed in the shooting area, but they were not allowed to be used as food.

“It’s like watching a Big Mac walk by,” says Daher.

Alone Australian the first production season was seen in 2023. The show rights are limited to Australia.

Participants come from Australia and New Zealand. The winner will receive a prize of 250,000 Australian dollars, or just under 154,000 euros.

Australian reality is based on American reality Alone – alone in the wilderness series that has been made in the USA since 2015.

In Finland, MTV showed what was filmed in the wilderness of Inari Alone Finland –the first production season of the series in autumn 2025.
