Eeva Kilve’s memorial service is open to the public

The event is open to the public.

“Eva and literature lovers are warmly welcome to the memorial service,” was written in the death notice published in Helsingin Sanomat on Sunday, July 19.

The invitation has also been presented on, among other things, WSOY’s Instagram account.

The relatives and publisher WSOY hope that instead of flowers and addresses, Kilve’s memory will be honored by supporting the conservation work of the Natural Heritage Foundation.

A memorial service organized by Karjalan Liitto and WSOY. The speeches will be given by Eeva Kilve’s son Jukka Kilpia poet Jenni Haukio and the chairman of the Karelia Union Martti Talja. Poems are performed No Ahvo ja Philomela-kuoro.

Kilpi, born in 1928 in Hiitola, Laatoka Karelia, was one of Finland’s most prominent and beloved artists. The main themes of his prose and poetry were seclusion, Karelia and nature.
