Billie Eilish’s brother is also leaving: Ed Sheeran is losing more support acts after Macklemore’s exit

Lukas Graham, who was also supposed to perform as a support act in the USA, wrote in a statement: “We should be able to talk about war, about civilians killed, about children who have the right to grow up. Wherever they live.” The band Beoga and Finneas O’Connell, also known as a close companion of his sister Billie Eilish, also canceled their participation in the remaining tour dates on Instagram.

According to reports, all remaining support acts have therefore canceled their participation. Sheeran is on his “Loop” tour in the USA until November, after which concerts are scheduled in Mexico and South America.

Israeli-American Council launched petition

Macklemore had previously announced that “Ed Sheeran and his team” had removed him from the tour. According to media reports, the 43-year-old had said at concerts: “One of the reasons why I wanted to take part in this tour was so that I can stand here on stages and in stadiums all over America and say two words that are very close to my heart: Free Palestine.”

According to the media, the Israeli-American Council (IAC) organization then started a petition calling on Sheeran not to allow the rapper to continue performing on his tour.

Ed Sheeran also took a stand: That was the tour organizer’s decision, not his, Sheeran wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. He himself has spoken extensively in the past few days with representatives of the venues, the tour operator and “activists on both sides” in an attempt to find a common solution, but without success. Meanwhile, other musicians announced that they no longer wanted to perform as part of Sheeran’s tour.

Sheeran wrote that he was “horrified” by the Middle East conflict and the suffering on both sides. “I have my personal opinion on this devastating conflict. Just because I don’t comment publicly on it doesn’t mean I don’t have it, and it doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
