Italy-Tunisia, Sangiuliano meets Saied: “Increasing cultural cooperation”

The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, met today in Tunis with the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, at the Carthage Palace in Tunis (PHOTO). During the interview they were reviewed the ancient bonds of civilization that unite the two nations and it was underlined how necessary it is to focus the dialogue between the Italian and Tunisian people on the richness of their respective cultural heritages and common history (PHOTO).

Culture can be a formidable driving force for development“, Minister Sangiuliano said on the sidelines, underlining how central cultural diplomacy is in the Mattei Plan for Africa, launched by the Italian government.

Minister Sangiuliano then agreed with President Saied regarding the availability to launch joint initiatives that increase cultural cooperation between Italy and Tunisiaincluding the strengthening of collaborations between the cultural institutions of the two States, starting from the agreement signed today in Tunis between the Colosseum Archaeological Park and the El Jem Amphitheater through the National Institute of Tunisian Heritage and the Agence de Mise en Valeur du Patrimoine et de Promotion Culturelle, and the promotion of scientific research and the exchange of students and researchers.
