World experts come to Vinmec to train in fetal medicine

The program has the direct participation of the world’s leading professors and highly influential experts in the field of modern fetal medicine. In addition to directly teaching, the team participates in developing curriculum with Vinmec to ensure the program is updated according to the most prestigious international recommendations.

Among them, Professor Yves Ville is Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine, Necker Hospital (France), one of the first people in the world to perform fetal intervention. Professor Mark Kilby is a renowned fetal medicine expert from the University of Birmingham (UK). The program also includes Dr. Bertrand Stos – expert in fetal and pediatric heart disease, and Dr. Pierre Macé – expert in ultrasound, central nervous system and fetal cardiology from Necker Hospital (France).

According to MSc.BS. Dinh Thi Hien Le – Vice President of the Obstetrics Council and Head of Fetal Medicine Department at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital, the program has a three-phase roadmap, including: foundation – clinical – intervention. This approach helps students master techniques and at the same time, deeply understand the pathogenesis, thereby improving clinical diagnosis and decision-making capacity.

Training content comprehensively covers the core areas of modern fetal medicine, from fundamental science, advanced ultrasound, genetics, prenatal diagnosis to fetal intervention and genetic counseling.

Accordingly, one of the outstanding contents of the course is fetal intervention. Students have access to modern techniques such as laser treatment of twin-twin transfusion syndrome, intrauterine blood transfusion or shunt placement… In addition to theoretical lectures, the program also focuses on training through practical clinical cases, intervention videos and practice with direct instructions.
