Eating oysters every time you drink still reduces desire

On July 2, Dr. BS.CK2 Tra Anh Duy said that the medical history showed that the man slept late, had prolonged work stress, was sedentary, gained weight and regularly drank alcohol. Clinical examination recorded a waist circumference of 99 cm, BMI 28 kg/m2. Blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood fat indexes all increased, and morning testosterone was at a low level. No significant abnormalities were recorded in the semen analysis, but metabolic health and lifestyle were identified as the main factors contributing to decline in performance.

According to Dr. Duy, many men believe in foods that are rumored to be “physiologically nutritious”, but ignore more powerful causes such as lack of sleep, stress, belly fat, alcohol, smoking and metabolic diseases.

In fact, oysters are a food rich in zinc – an important micronutrient for immunity, metabolism and male reproductive health. Zinc is involved in testosterone production, spermatogenesis and sperm quality. However, eating more zinc-rich foods is only clearly helpful in people who are truly deficient in this micronutrient. For people who are not zinc deficient, eating a lot of oysters does not mean testosterone spikes or erectile dysfunction disappears.

“If men have decreased libido or erectile dysfunction, what needs to be done is to find the underlying cause, not just increase the number of oysters on the table,” the doctor said.

Doctor Duy believes that men’s performance depends on more factors than a single dish. Sleep, activity level, weight, cardiovascular health, endocrine and psychological health all play important roles. Eating oysters regularly but sleeping 4-5 hours a night, having a growing belly, drinking a lot of alcohol and prolonged stress makes it difficult to improve performance.

Experts recommend that when reduced libido, erectile dysfunction or prolonged infertility occur, men should see a specialist for a comprehensive evaluation, instead of placing expectations on rumors about “miracle” foods.
