The corneas of the eyes of the late Omer Detz, who passed away at the age of 30 last Thursday, will be donated – this was announced this morning (Sunday) by the National Transplantation Center. “Omer’s parents, Orna and Moshe, agreed to donate organs to save lives. The corneas of his eyes were saved and transplanted into patients waiting for an eye transplant,” the center said in a statement.The actor and singer was found dead in his home in Givataim on Thursday. “Our eldest son was found dead from an epileptic fit,” the family’s statement reads. “The shock and pain are unbearable, we thank you for considering our private grief.” Detz, who was supposed to celebrate his 31st birthday next month, was laid to rest at the Givatayim cemetery on Friday.

 

Already as a child, Detz, who inherited the love of the stage from home, began to sing and act, and participated in the children’s tapes in which his parents starred, “Tif Vat Taf”. He later played in television series and until recently participated in plays at the Bhima Theater. In 2013, she competed in the first season of the singing reality show “The Next Star” and came in fifth place. Friends of Omar and the family say that he was a sensitive, loved, family and humble person. He left behind his parents and his younger brother, Yoad.
