CD Castellón has confirmed its reaction with a new victory at the SkyFi Castalia against Granada CF (3-2) that has returned it to the ‘Playoff’ zone of LaLiga Hypermotion, in a thirty-fourth matchday in which Real Sporting de Gijón has ended a streak of three games without winning against Real Sociedad B (1-0), which has four consecutive defeats.
Pablo Hernández’s men, who last week stopped a series of six games without winning at home against Almería (2-0), took the lead after half an hour with a goal from Ousmane Camara, and although the Andalusian team tied five minutes later thanks to Jorge Pascual, with the help of local Fabrizio Brignani, Diego Barri made it 2-1 before the break.
Shortly after the match resumed, Brignani was able to make amends by taking advantage of a bad clearance by Álvaro Lemos. Pascual, with a penalty in the 63rd minute, closed the gap, but the ‘Orellut’ team knew how to defend its advantage, which places it fifth with 57 points, four away from the direct promotion zone and with the same as the fourth -UD Las Palmas-, the sixth -Málaga CF- and the seventh -Burgos CF-. Granada (42) remains in the temperate zone.
Meanwhile, Sporting came within eight points of the Playoff with their victory against Sanse, which has already lost four in a row. A solitary goal from Gaspar Campos in the 45th minute was enough for Borja Jiménez’s team to end a series of three games without winning and continue with options. The San Sebastian subsidiary (40), for its part, remains six points above the relegation zone.
