FC Bayern Basketball: Bayern celebrate their main round victory against Alba Berlin

In the “German Clásico”, FC Bayern defeated their long-term rivals Alba Berlin and secured early victory in the main round of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). The champions won in front of the home crowd 85:79 (42:37), pursuer Alba can no longer push the Munich team out of first place in the table.

Thanks to their success, the defending champions have home advantage until the end of the playoffs, and Munich and Berlin have had their ticket to the championship round in their pockets for a long time. Alba was unimpressed and turned the game around after returning from the dressing room, but Bayern were able to respond. A 13:1 run to 74:64 (36th) brought the next double-digit lead, but Berlin caused tension again in the final minute. It was no longer enough to win.

Obst was Bayern’s best thrower (18 points) and sank four three-pointers. Malte Delow scored 15 points for Berlin and Justin Bean recorded ten rebounds. Bayern versus Berlin is currently the biggest duel in German basketball. In the past twelve years, both clubs have won the title eight times.
