In the race for the podium and the Ligue 2 play-offs, Fleury can still dream while Versailles has undoubtedly jeopardized its last chances. Paris 13 Atletico is almost saved.
The Farade-Rivas duo lights up Fleury
Fleury is irresistible. In front of nearly 4,000 spectators and in a great atmosphere at the Essonne Stadium (formerly Robert Bobin) where seats were free, the promoted Essonne annihilated (4-0) Le Puy, who was playing his last card for the podium and brought his incredible unbeaten streak to nine games (7 wins, 2 draws). It’s his biggest success this season.
Fleury had a great first period and made it happen thanks to his very effective attacking duo Kevin Farade (18th) – Jonathan Rivas (28th, 40th). Farade brings his total to 18 goals and Rivas to 7, including 6 in the last 6 matches.
If President Bovis’ team left the game to Puy and was more in the management, it added a 4th goal by Yoann Le Méhauté who took advantage of a poor recovery from the defense (4-0, 72nd). Gaël Alette, the Essonne goalkeeper, also distinguished himself with numerous saves.
With a three-point lead now, Fleury is putting pressure on Rouen who are playing a derby against QRM this Saturday. There are two finals left in Orléans (6th) and against… Rouen on May 15 for David Vignes’ players to compete in the promotion play-offs against the 16th in Ligue 2 (May 19 and 24).
Versailles is losing ground
At the Loges camp, Versailles has certainly said goodbye to 3rd place just like its opponent Orléans. This draw (0-0) does not suit either team. Still 5th, Versailles is now five points behind Fleury.
The Versailles team, however, had a numerical superiority for almost the entire second half after the expulsion of Kouroufia Kébé (49th). But they came across an Orléans goalkeeper Fei-Hong Faham, who was decisive on the attempts of Samir Ben Brahim (61st, 86th), Raphaël Calvet (71st) and Shelton Guillaume (72nd).
Paris 13 Atletico hits the mark
After three defeats in a row and seven goals conceded, Paris 13 Atletico stopped the bleeding by taking a point (0-0) Thursday in Concarneau. With 31 points, it would take a combination of circumstances for the Parisian club not to join the future Ligue 3 next season. If Bourg-en-Bresse does not beat Villefranche this Saturday, maintenance will be assured.
“We will wait patiently for the other results but by picking up points like that, the objective is getting closer and closer,” underlines coach Manu Da Costa. We had to stop the negative spiral so we are satisfied with this point. We had a strong, united match. Not everything was perfect, especially in terms of offensive animation, but we have to be pragmatic. The downside is that we still lost two players to injuries (Gakpa, Temanfo). »
