The English Premier League club Brentford FC says according to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shortly before signing a central defender from Red Bull Salzburg. As Romano reports, there should be a deal for the Austrian Jannik Schuster “Almost completed”, a verbal agreement between the clubs has already been reached.
Accordingly, the transfer package includes around 20 million euros. If the move is finalized as expected, it would be one of the bigger departures from Salzburg this summer and another step for a homegrown talent into a top league.
An official confirmation from the clubs is still pending. Romano, who is considered a well-connected insider, described the transfer with the words “Deal almost done”.
The 19-year-old Tyrolean shoemaker has been playing at the Salzburg academy since 2020. Last summer he made the jump to the professionals. Under coach Daniel Beichler he finally became a regular player. Schuster has always been a regular player in various ÖFB youth national teams, and he currently plays in the under-21 team.
