Bundesliga: Report: Eintracht also in Dortmund with coach Riera

Despite Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting decline and the ongoing criticism of him, Albert Riera is also in the Hessen coaching bench in the Bundesliga game at Borussia Dortmund. This is reported by the “Bild” newspaper. Accordingly, the 44-year-old Spaniard will have a final next Friday.

After the game at BVB, a decision will be made as to whether Riera will be allowed to continue his duties on the last matchday in the home game against VfB Stuttgart. According to information from the newspaper, there will be no continuation of the collaboration beyond the summer – Riera’s contract is valid until June 30, 2028.

Eintracht coach has squandered all credit

Riera succeeded Dino Toppmöller at Eintracht at the beginning of February. However, his record is modest with four wins, four draws and four defeats.

Due to the 1:2 against Hamburger SV, the Frankfurt team even fell out of the European Cup places on the last matchday and are in danger of missing out on taking part in an international competition, which was their goal for the season. Sports director Markus Krösche avoided making a commitment to Riera after the game.

The extroverted coach is not only blamed for the sporting grievances, but also for human errors in dealing with the team. The relationship between Riera and leading players such as Mario Götze, Jonathan Burkardt, Robin Koch and Ritsu Doan is considered extremely distant. The football teacher also got into trouble with the fans because of his appearances.
