– The man fell ill before 8:00 p.m., the doctor from the emergency room determined that there was an urgent need for an emergency helicopter transport and reported it to the triba. After receiving no feedback for more than half an hour, she called them again, only to be told that the helicopter was broken, and the other one probably doesn’t fly at night – describes the situation of the exasperated Višanin. As the helicopter was not available, the doctor requested transportation by speed boat. However, then it turned out that only one vessel was in operation, which at that moment was larger. was engaged in other locations.

As he told Morski.hr, the man was picked up from the Vis waterfront just before midnight.

The deputy chief of the Više fire department, Pave Pinceti, confirmed the whole story and did not hide his indignation at the situation in which his colleague found himself. He pointed out that the sick fire chief was going through difficult times while he was waiting for help. It is still unknown how their colleague is doing.

Although the technical conditions failed, the deputy commander emphasizes that the local medical staff did their best and reacted flawlessly.

-He was losing consciousness and coughing up blood, so now judge for yourself whether it was an emergency. He felt terrible. As if we were the last hole in the pipe. You know what bothers me the most? That my colleague helped so many people and had hundreds of interventions. And now when he needed it, the system failed. It is clear to me that something could be wrong, that someone else is on another intervention, and we will face it ourselves, but there must always be an option A, B, C, D and the system must be ready! – concluded Pinceti.
