The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, is the majority owner of the Danish biotechnology company QuantBioRes, which is working on the development of therapy against covid-19 disease, the director of that company told Reuters.
Djokovic bought 80 percent of the company Kvantbiores in June 2020, said its executive director Ivan Loncarevic, without stating how much the investment was.
The company employs 11 researchers working in Denmark, Australia and Slovenia, Loncarevic said.
He pointed out that Quantiores is developing a therapy, not a vaccine against the coronavirus, according to Reuters.
The company is developing a peptide, which prevents the corona virus from infecting a human cell, and expects to start clinical trials in Great Britain in the summer, stated Lončarević.
