Hungarian competitor Liu Shaoang won a gold medal today in the 500-meter short speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Liu won with a result of 40,338 seconds and won the third medal in Beijing. Previously, he won two bronze medals in the 1,000-meter dash and the 2,000-meter medley relay.
He has a total of four Olympic medals in his career, after the gold in Pyongyang in the 5,000-meter relay.
Today, the silver medal was won by the Russian skater Konstantin Ivlijev with a result of 40.431 seconds, and the bronze by the Canadian Stephen Dubois with 40.669.
Dubois now has two medals in Beijing, after silver in the 1,500-meter race.
