Skater Grassl misses 3 doping controls. He risks a heavy disqualification

The 21-year-old Italian skater Daniel Grassl missed three anti-doping controls. For this violation there is a risk of one to two years of disqualification. The news was reported to AGI by Russian sport sources. He is also aware of the anti-doping code violation swim italy.

Grassl, who has meanwhile left Moscow, violated the anti-doping rules and according to what is learned, the reasons would be linked to a technical error in the athlete’s control tracking system (Adams). The news is also reported by the Russian agency RIA Novosti.

Grassl, South Tyrolean skater from Merano, bearer of the Fiamme Oro, four-time Italian ice figure skating champion, has left the Russian capital and therefore also Eteri Tutberidze, famous coach of many champions, including Kamila Vialieva. The departure of Daniel Grassl, which took place between Christmas and New Year’s Eve last year, for Moscow had aroused many perplexities.

Not Grassl will be coached in Turin by Edoardo De Bernardis. Nado Italia, the Italian anti-doping agency, is aware of the ‘missing tests’: at the moment there are no sanctions against Grassl but the athlete risks a disqualification of one to two years. Skipping anti-doping controls does not mean having been found positive for doping, but having violated the world code and, therefore, the violation is sanctioned.

Reply: “That’s not true”

“I’m not aware of this news, it was difficult for me to live in Moscow alone, but I don’t know anything about anti-doping, this news is not true: I’m still skating, if I was disqualified I couldn’t do it but I have to ask the manager if this rumor is going around.” Daniel Grassl said this to AGI regarding the three skipped anti-doping controls of which Nado Italia is aware.
