For four astronauts on their way around the moon today, the most exciting part of the mission is the passage itself and the detailed recording of everything they can see during the several hours of passage. In addition to Nikon cameras, for the first time astronauts could also take ordinary commercial phones into space, namely the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
It was with these devices that they recorded a series of spectacular views of our planet that NASA shared on its Flickr profile this weekend.
The photos were taken by Reid Wiseman and Christina Koch, and show them looking at Earth through the windows of Orion. It is interesting that on Flickr we can see the data about the camera settings with each photo, so it can be seen that they were taken on April 2nd.
Other photos they published were taken by Nikon D5, Z9 and GoPro Hero4 Black.
