A Spanish company presents a pioneering project in Europe for glasses with AI for industrial environments

The Spanish firm LIS Data Solutions will present at Advanced Factories 2026 (Barcelona) a pioneering project in Europe focused on the use of smart glasses for the industrial environment, which will allow operators and technical staff to access specific information in real time directly from the viewer, with their hands free and without depending on a computer or mobile phone, during maintenance, review, diagnosis and warehouse processes.

The ‘software’ connects the smart glasses with aisQ AGENTa corporate AI agent with which consult internal manuals, access plans or images and view them with zoom. Beyond access to information, the system also allows data to be allocated by voice directly from the glasses, which makes it easier to record information in real time without interrupting operations or taking up hands.

This functionality opens the door to specific use cases in maintenance, such as the preparation of a part of a preventive maintenance intervention; in production, with the time record (machines used, parts manufactured or revisions carried out); and in plan, with the request to the warehouse of the necessary material to maintain the manufacturing pace, as explained by LIS Data Solutions, the company responsible for this development, which is part of the EMIE project, co-financed by the European Union and the Basque Government through the Hazitek call.

The objective is transfer both access to knowledge and the registration of information to the operating environment itself“in a more agile, natural and safe way.” Instead of forcing the professional to interrupt their task to consult or write down information on another device, the system transfers that interaction directly to the viewer and allows it to be resolved by voice, keeping their hands free during the operation.

MULTIMODAL MODELS CAPABLE OF PROCESSING TEXT, IMAGE AND VOICE

From a technical point of view, the project relies on multimodal models capable of processing text, image and voice, along with a multimodal RAG architecture that connects the glasses with technical documentation, internal knowledge and corporate data sources.

This integration layer allows link the system with databases and transactional platforms of the company, such as ERP, CMMS, MES or other operational databases, enabling both the contextual consultation of information and the interaction with data linked to industrial activity. Furthermore, the development incorporates compressed models, designed to facilitate their operation in environments with limited resources, a common condition in the plant, during field visits or in contexts where connectivity is not always stable.

This proposal is aligned with LIS Data Solutions’ trajectory in the development of artificial intelligence applied to business and industrial contexts, as well as with the evolution of aisQ AGENT, the company’s AI agent platform. “Designed to facilitate access to internal knowledge and support specific tasks within organizations, this technology makes it possible work on safer corporate environments adapted to real needs of each company,” says the company.

The presentation at Advanced Factories will mean a new step in the commitment of Spanish technology companies to a useful, responsible and connected artificial intelligence with the real needs of the different sectors. The LIS Data Solutions team will show a demo of this technology at stand D445 in Hall 2 of Fira de Barcelona – Gran Vía Venue, where attendees will be able to try the glasses live on May 5, 6 and 7.
