Precisely, among the platforms that collect the most information, the social networkss, as well as applications of transport y digital commerce. This is because most users do not review the privacy policies or the permissions they grant when installing an application, as ellu indicated in a press release.

From ellu they have indicated a series of keys that allow users to protect their privacy and data. First of all, they recommend review granted permissions to the applications and remove those that are not necessary for their operation.

On the other hand, they warn about the artificial intelligence (AI) invisible, incorporated by more and more applications to improve the user experience, which may imply access to more data to create user profiles and be marketed outside the application.

To avoid this, they suggest looking at whether the application explains well what use it makes of the data and if there is the option to disable these artificial intelligence functions.

Another way in which applications can access this sensitive information is through the record to use it. In this sense, ellu highlights the importance of choosing platforms that apply data minimization from their design, such as the use of anonymous IDs. However, if registration is required, it is recommended to use a secondary email or alias.

Finally, it provides one of the most repeated pieces of advice from experts: keep the device, as well as its applications, updated. In this way, security patches are incorporated and the way in which the phone manages permissions is improved.

“When we share information, we should do so with services that guarantee responsible use of the data and that use it exclusively for the functionality of the application, without unexpected or invasive secondary processing. The user must be able to decide with knowledge of the facts, the data to be provided and what it is really going to be used for.”, defended the founder of ellu, Yago Foncillas.
