Evolution of desktop telephony, HP integrates artificial intelligence and security

HP introduced the new Poly Edge V series to meet the need for clear, reliable and secure communications in hybrid and frontline work environments. The desktop phone maintains a central position in corporate IT infrastructures. Market projections indicate that over 93% of technology leaders plan to consolidate investments in this type of device over the next five years. The technological response to this trend translates into development of Open SIP terminals that combine professional audio and advanced security protocols, meeting the needs of critical sectors such as healthcare, government and hospitality.

L’adoption of next-generation NoiseBlockAI technology represents the heart of the audio experience of the new series. This artificial intelligence system is designed to ensure sound quality even in noisy offices or hectic operational contexts. The ability to isolate the voice and eliminate background noise becomes crucial in environments such as retail or healthcare facilities, where the precision of communication can have a direct impact on the efficiency of the service.

Data protection is ensured by the integration of a Trusted Security Module (TSM)which ensures hardware defense and data integrity throughout the entire product lifecycle. In addition to digital security, the new terminals introduce specific features for the physical protection of employees. A programmable button allows you to forward silent emergency calls: the notification is sent to a predefined number without appearing on the telephone interfaceoffering discreet support in situations of potential risk or sensitivity.

The series is structured to adapt to different workloads, from essential models up to premium variants with 5-inch displays capable of managing up to 60 lines. Connectivity is guaranteed by USB-C ports and, on higher models, by integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, facilitating pairing with the HP Poly Voyager and HP Poly Mission series headphones. For IT departments, large-scale deployment is simplified by the Poly Lens platform, which enables remote device monitoring and configuration.

Finally, the attention to sustainability is confirmed by the TCO certification and the use of at least 35% recycled plastics in the construction of the terminals, reducing the environmental footprint of the company’s fleets.
