Google joins the trend of screenless activity bracelets with FitBit Air

Google has presented FitBit Air, a new screen-free activity bracelet that offers users monitoring of their health and sports activity in a format that is more comfortable to wear and avoids distractions.

The technology company has joined the trend of screen-free activity bracelets – which has already been seen in sports competitions -, which addresses those users who are looking for a more affordable, comfortable device that integrates into your daily life.

This bracelet, since it does not have a screen, looks like a band that is placed around the wrist. It has a small advanced sensor integrated to collect user data and send it directly to the Google Health mobile application, including irregular heart rate, blood oxygen level and heart rate variability.

Google has highlighted its use with the new Google Health Coach, the personal trainer powered by Gemini that is included in the Google Health Premium subscription.

The device is designed to avoid distractions offered by the screen. Also to make it comfortable at any time of the day, even at night, while users are sleeping, so that data relating to sleep quality can be recorded.

This device offers an autonomy of seven daysand has support for fast charging, which provides a day of use with five minutes of charging. It recharges completely (from 0 to 100%) in 90 minutes and uses a bidirectional magnetic system.

To adapt to the style of users, Fitbit Air is available in different styles and colors. Google has also announced a special edition with basketball player Stephen Currywhich is water resistant and is specially designed for intensive training.

FitBit Air can be ordered from this Thursday, although it will be available from May 26, with a price of 99,99 euros. Includes three months of Google Health Premium subscription.
