Google unveils Googlebooks to challenge the PC giants

The new infrastructure is based entirely on the Android technology stack, ensuring unprecedented integration with the mobile ecosystem. Googlebooks will not only run Android applications and the Chrome browser in separate environments, but will allow direct access to files and apps resident on the user’s smartphone, eliminating any friction when switching between different screens. The Gemini artificial intelligence will be the omnipresent element of the interface, manifesting itself in new functions such as the Magic Pointer. This tool will allow you to activate contextual suggestions by shaking the cursor over elements of the screen, automating complex tasks such as organizing appointments from emails or generating customized widgets for travel management.

On the hardware front, technical details remain scarce for now, except for the presence of a light bar with Big G’s iconic colors which will act as an aesthetic signature for the entire category. The Californian giant has confirmed the collaboration with historical partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo for the production of the first models, although data relating to prices or internal components have not yet been released. The question of the future of the existing machine park remains open: despite the promise to maintain support for current Chromebooks for up to ten years, it is clear that the axis of development will progressively shift towards this new computational paradigm.
