The approach of these new enthusiasts focuses above all on ordinary and daily maintenance, such as cleaning pots and weeding, rather than on the complex design of outdoor spaces. In the UK and Germany, general seasonal routine care involves most people, while in Italy 60% of those interviewed prefer to dedicate themselves to ornamental plants and 51% focus on the domestic cultivation of aromatic herbs and vegetables.

Even the management of small lawns and pruning remain common activities, but performed with a practical spirit. This need for simplicity is also influencing the work tools market, where the Stiga company records a strong demand for battery-powered, lightweight and space-saving technological solutions, such as the Stiga SC 100e model, capable of simplifying cutting and landscaping even in very limited spaces such as city terraces.

Beyond individual activities, the research highlights how the main motivation for this trend is the search for personal well-being. Plant care is considered a small daily ritual to slow down the frenetic pace of urban life and find mental balance. This perception is shared by 88% of respondents in Italy and 89% in the United Kingdom, the highest values ​​recorded in the survey, followed by Spain, France and Germany.
