Samsung TVs support searching and answering with AI conversations

A Samsung representative said Vision AI Companion was developed specifically for shared family screens, turning everyday moments into cohesive experiences.

At the heart of the device is an upgraded version of Bixby, which allows the TV to converse naturally, understand deeper context and provide personalized feedback. Specifically, users only need to ask questions about a movie, sporting event, work of art, or even travel suggestions, and the screen will immediately respond, with visual images.

According to the company’s announcement, users do not need to navigate through complicated menus or use additional devices, instead, everything happens directly on the TV screen while maintaining the content being viewed.

To activate Vision AI Companion, users press the AI ​​button on the Samsung remote control (or hold down the Home button if the control is not equipped with an AI button). Note, you need to view and accept the privacy notice the first time you use the service.

After opening Vision AI Companion, press and hold the microphone button to chat with Bixby and interact with the AI ​​assistant. In addition, users can also select and navigate to related queries and a series of answers generated by AI.

The platform is activated when watching content from many different sources such as: live TV, Samsung TV Plus and OTT services such as Netflix, YouTube (some features may not be supported on OTT).

Specifically, if you want to find recipes, you can ask “What is the best way to grill pork belly?”. Vision AI Companion will suggest a list of suitable video tutorials step by step.

During the holiday season, TV plays the role of an assistant in planning and finding inspiration. With the question “Suggest a Christmas movie?”, users will receive a list of movies and a series of related content. If you need an entertaining game, Vision AI Companion will recommend a variety of options, from individual activities to games suitable for the whole family.

Besides, you can ask practical questions like “What’s the weather like in December?”, the screen will update with the latest information, helping homeowners have a more reasonable plan.

According to Samsung representatives, the difference of Vision AI Companion is the ability to respond to questions and requests with intuitive, intelligent answers through many AI agents with the press of the AI ​​button on the remote.

“The platform provides a natural communication experience thanks to the support of Generative AI,” the representative explained, adding that the system understands context and follow-up questions, creating a seamless interaction like chatting with a smart companion. Users do not need to memorize commands, search through menus or enter data.

As an open AI multi-agent platform, Vision AI Companion combines many large language models (LLMs) including Perplexity, Gemini and Bixby voice assistant, providing intelligent, intuitive feedback, tailored to each user’s question and need. The system supports 10 languages ​​such as Korean, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese…

A series of other outstanding features of the platform are: Live Translate (real-time translation of conversations and content displayed on the screen, helping to eliminate language barriers for global families); AI Gaming Mode (optimizes images and sounds with AI to enhance gaming experience with better response); Generative Wallpaper (create personalized animated wallpapers for TV, suitable to user preferences and mood); AI Picture, AVA (Active Voice Amplifier) ​​Pro and AI Upscaling Pro (automatically optimize image and sound quality).

The company announced that it has integrated Vision AI Companion covers the entire Samsung 2025-2026 TV portfolio, from the high-end Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED to popular segments like Mini LED. Note, platform availability depends on market and product line. As for Smart Monitor, this feature is currently applied on models from M70 and above.
