Samsung may reveal the Galaxy Z Fold8 launch date

The Samsumg Member application in the Malaysian market is said to reveal the date of the next Unpacked event as July 22.

The incident occurred on June 30 when Samsung Members in Malaysia displayed a notice to give away discount vouchers. In particular, users receive a code worth 700 RM (170 USD) when pre-ordering the “next foldable device”, along with another voucher worth 200 RM (50 USD) applied to the “next wearable device”.

Both are active from July 22 to October 4. The promotion application date often coincides with the opening time of the ordering portal after each major event, so many technology sites believe that Galaxy Unpacked, where the Galaxy Z Fold8 was announced, will be held on this day.

Besides, Samsung also officially activated the communication campaign for the new generation of folding phones. On the night of June 29, the company deleted all posts on the official Instagram accounts, then posted a series of short videos with the message “Bold stroke, new shape”.

Theo PhoneArenathis campaign focuses on visual changes with a stylized number 8 symbol that is continuously interwoven, implicitly confirming a major overhaul of the design of the Galaxy Z Fold8 to directly compete with Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold or Apple’s upcoming folding screen iPhone Ultra model.

Previously leaked information showed that the focus of the Unpacked event in July will be the Galaxy Z Fold8 version with a wider screen ratio, besides the high-end variant Z Fold8 Ultra. The duo is expected to integrate the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. While the standard version is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, the Ultra version will have a 200-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

For the clamshell folding line, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is likely to use the Exynos 2600 chip in some markets. In addition, during the event, Samsung also plans to launch a new generation of smart watches including Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, while the Classic version with a physical rotating bezel may not be renewed this year.
