Audible reinterprets Dracula with Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli

The adaptation will be released globally in seven languages: English, Italian, French, German, Castilian Spanish, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Each edition will be able to count on leading performers, chosen to give new life to the characters of the classic Gothic literature.

For the Italian version Audible has entrusted the main roles to Riccardo Scamarcio, who will play Dracula, and Benedetta Porcaroli, in the role of Mina. The cast also includes Laura Romano in the role of Professor Van Helsing, Gabriele Sabatini as Doctor Seward, Flavio Aquilone in the role of Jonathan Harker, Sara Labidi in the role of Lucy, Alessandro Quarta as Renfield and Angiola Baggi in the role of Mrs. Westenra. The Italian direction is signed by Georgia Lepore.

The English production can also count on a highly attractive cast, with Jonathan Bailey in the role of Count Dracula, alongside Ella Purnell, Aimee Lou Wood, Louis Partridge, David Jonsson, Lesley Manville, Johnny Flynn, Francis Lovehall and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The other international versions will instead feature Omar Sy and Deva Cassel for the French market, Matthias Schweighöfer and Jeanne Goursaud for the German one, Asier Etxeandía and Claudia Salas in the Castilian Spanish version, as well as José María De Tavira and Esmeralda Pimentel for the Latin American edition.

According to Aurelie de Troyer, Head of Audible Content International, this production perfectly represents the objective of the platform: to exploit the language of sound to make the psychological conflict between Dracula and Mina even more engaging. The company also underlines how the presence of international interpreters made it possible to create a project designed from the beginning for a global audience.

The project also marks the audio directorial debut of Mary Lambert, famous for the cult horror film Living Cemetery. The adaptation was written by Robyn Ahern, while the original soundtrack bears the signature of composer Ilan Eshkeri, accompanied by a completely immersive sound design designed to enhance tension and atmosphere.

Dracula has already been scheduled for release. The English, Italian, French, Castilian Spanish and Latin American Spanish versions will be available exclusively on Audible starting October 1, 2026, ahead of the Halloween season. The German version will arrive on February 9, 2027, while the Brazilian Portuguese version will debut during 2027.
