Xbox tests free cloud gaming with ads for library video games

Xbox has started testing a free version of the cloud game Xbox Cloud Gaming, which will allow you to stream titles from your personal library with the requirement of watching some ads first.

Cloud gaming has been a feature limited to Game Passfirst available only in the Ultimate mode and, after the update in October last year, in all subscriptions.

This means that game streaming is a paid feature, but Xbox is testing a way to access it for free, in a modality with ads, as reported on his official blog.

During the trial, available to members of the Xbox Insider program, players will be able to stream games in their library for free, up to a maximum of one hour. The advertising will be shown before starting the game and not during its development.

The company is clear that advertising, “when done well, can help reduce the cost of access,” and with this they can “to give more people more affordable ways to play.”
