Photography returns to the center of smartphones

Oppo renews its range of high-end smartphones with Find X10 e Find X10 Pro Maxtwo devices that focus above all on photography, but also introduce innovations in terms of autonomy, screen quality and artificial intelligence.

The new series confirms the collaboration with Hasselblad for the development of cameras and marks the debut of ColorOS 17, the new version of the Chinese company’s operating system.

The main difference between the two models concerns the photographic sector: Find X10 has two 200 megapixel rear cameras, while Find X10 Pro Max integrates threeeach with the same resolution. A choice that reflects the growing importance attributed by manufacturers to mobile photography, not only in terms of resolution, but also image processing and lens versatility.

Photography, collaboration with Hasselblad

On the Find

The novelty does not only consist in the increase in megapixels:Oppo has introduced a default 26-megapixel capture system, designed to offer a compromise between amount of detail and file size. Those who want to take advantage of the maximum resolution can select 50 or 200 megapixel shooting modes, compatible with the camera used.

The new one manages the image processing LUMO True Image Enginedeveloped to obtain photographs with colors and tones as close as possible to the original scene. The declared objective is to limit some software interventions that in smartphones can produce excessively bright, sharp or saturated images.

The system uses chromatic information collected by a dedicated camera and intervenes in the management of lights and shadows. This is an approach that favors a more natural rendering, even in portraits and in situations characterized by complex lighting.

For both models there is also a teleconverter Hasselbladan additional optical accessory with 3.28 times magnification, intended primarily for those who photograph distant subjects.

Video, more space for content creation

The Find X10 series also pays particular attention to video recording. The standard model supports 4K shooting at 60 frames per second with all rear cameras, while the main and telephoto cameras reach 4K at 120 frames and 8K at 30 frames.

On the Pro Max these modes are available on all three rear cameras.

Among the most interesting functions appears Open Gatea mode that uses the entire surface of the photo sensor to record a larger image. In practice, it allows you to use the same video to subsequently obtain videos with different formats, for example horizontal for YouTube and vertical for Instagram, without necessarily having to repeat the shot.

A Tilta Khronos accessory kit is also available for the Find X10 Pro Max, including a grip, additional filter and lens adapters, and a fan for cooling during extended recording.

OLED screens and over 7,000 mAh batteries

The differences between the two smartphones also concern the dimensions. The Find X10 has a 6.59-inch screen, while the Find X10 Pro Max comes in at 6.78 inches. Both use OLED panels with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, a feature that makes page scrolling and animations smoother.

The declared peak brightness reaches 3,600 nits, while support for the BT.2020 color space allows you to reproduce a particularly wide color range with compatible contents. The screens can also reduce brightness by up to one nit, a solution designed to make use in the dark less annoying.

On the autonomy front, Oppo has adopted silicon-carbon batteries with capacities up to 7,150 mAha technology that allows you to increase energy density without proportionally increasing the size of the batteries.

Both models support 80-watt wired and 50-watt wireless fast charging. The actual autonomy will naturally depend on the methods of use, the brightness of the screen and the applications used.

As for the processors, Find X10 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, made with a 3 nanometer production process, while the Pro Max features the 2 nanometer Dimensity 9600 Pro. There are also vapor chamber cooling systems, intended to contain the increase in temperature during the most demanding activities.

The body has a glass structure that is connected to the photographic module. Both phones have achieved IP66, IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance in laboratory conditions.

ColorOS 17, artificial intelligence enters the operating system

Another novelty is represented by ColorOS 17which introduces interface changes and new AI-powered features.

These include AI Mind Pilot, developed through a collaboration with Manus. The function allows you to entrust artificial intelligence with tasks that involve multiple steps, such as searching for information among files on the device, organizing documents, planning trips or preparing presentations.

AI Photo Agent is instead dedicated to editing photographs. It can analyze an image, suggest corrective actions and apply changes through instructions formulated in natural language. There is also a function that allows you to use a photograph as a reference to reproduce its colors and atmosphere on another image.

Not all features will be immediately available in every market. Oppo specifies that AI Photo Agent will be distributed progressively, with usage limits varying depending on the country. The AI Call Guard feature, designed to detect possible fraud attempts through synthetic voices and video manipulations during calls, is initially only available in Indonesia, India and Thailand.

To protect data processed through remote services, the company also indicates the use of its Private Computing Cloud infrastructure, with end-to-end encryption.

The Enco X4 earphones are also arriving

Alongside the new smartphones, Oppo presented the Enco X4completely wireless earphones developed in collaboration with Dynaudio.

The audio system uses two earphone drivers, dedicated to reproducing different frequencies, and offers five user-selectable sound profiles.

One of the main features is the adaptive active noise cancellationwhich automatically changes the isolation level depending on the surrounding environment. The system is designed especially for situations such as train travel, subway travel and staying in crowded places.
