Google Search for the future
Probably the most significant thing they showed tonight was a thorough overhaul of the search engine, their main product since the very beginnings of Google. AI-powered search engine and internet results should soon change the way we search the internet.
In order to demonstrate the new AI search engine, in the demonstration they entered a search for a suggested location for a trip for a family with two small children and a dog. It was a query that would normally be broken down into several searches for locations that interest us, and here, in addition to the standard results, Google also provided a summary of the description with the advantages of individual locations and activities, as well as the one that is more suitable for dogs. On the side, he offered additional information, as well as additional queries with which you can explore each one more deeply.
Another example was in the search for a bike for short distances with climbs. And along with the results, the search engine gave a description of what to look for in a bicycle for daily trips and why an electric bicycle would be a good choice. An additional inquiry about such a red bicycle also offered bicycles from various shops.
The new search engine is currently available through Search Labs in the US.
Gmail will write entire emails for you
In addition to the thorough changes in the search engine, Google also announced that artificial intelligence will get even more into Gmail, so that the automatic reply options will get even more options.
Namely, until now Google offered the possibility to send an automatic reply to various messages, but Google director Sundar Pichai showed that Gmail can write almost an entire email in reply to an airline company regarding a request for a refund. The system extracted the flight data from the earlier email and created a response in which it requests a refund, and then offers you the option to make changes or give it more freedom and create a more extensive response.
