Microsoft Teams will become smarter thanks to Copilot: video call summaries and more options |  TECHNOLOGY

Microsoft has incorporated improvements in Copilot for Teams to get more meeting information, call summaries, or adapt the style of messages in the composition box to “supercharge collaboration.”

Users who use Copilot find this AI tool useful with just eleven minutes of time saved, and after eleven weeks they improve their work in key areas.

This data, which Microsoft draws from a recent survey on Copilot, is behind the push the company is giving to its generative artificial intelligence chatbot within Teams, where it plans to incorporate improvements that “supercharge collaboration.”

These improvements will be incorporated into meetings (May), the message writing box in the chat (April) and calls (June), as stated in a press release.

Users will be able to extract information with the help of Copilot from the Teams meeting chat, that is, have “a more complete and inclusive view of what was covered” in it, both what was talked about and what was written.

For its part, in the message writing box in the chat, Copilot will help the user adapt the text to the style requested. Later you will be able to generate a new message from a short description. Finally, Copilot’s improvements to calls will allow the user to get a summary and extract information.

TEAM ROOMS

Additionally, Microsoft has announced the default activation of Intelliframe on Teams Rooms meeting room devices, to give equal visibility to all participants, both those in the room and those connecting remotely.

These devices will also improve the recognition capabilities of the person who is speaking, for more accurate transcription and information with Copilot, as well as voice isolation when there is background noise.

Microsoft has also announced the integration of Windows Autopilot into Teams Rooms to reduce the time it takes for IT teams to deploy meeting room devices.

It has also expanded the ecosystem called ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) with the generation of shared viewing mode, support for smart speakers and BYOD IT Management for administrators.

Finally, Microsoft has announced that the Teams Phone calling solution, which currently allows you to make, receive and transfer calls to and from landlines and mobile phones, will also support transferring, forwarding and incoming calls from call queues or auto attendants in case of a network interruption starting in the summer.
