ChatGPT: OpenAI changes its monetization policies to pay developers according to the use of their GPT

OpenAI has announced a change in its GPT Store monetization policies to test a system of earnings based on the use of GPTs, a format with which it seeks to create an ecosystem in which developers are rewarded for their creativity and impact.

After a delay in its launch, the company announced the availability of its store earlier this year so that users of its ‘chatbot’ could share variations of the original version, known from its GPT, with other members of the community if they so wish. they wanted.

GPT Store, which brings together the most “useful and popular” versions of its ‘chatbot’, offers a classification table from which categories such as ‘writing’, ‘research’ or ‘programming’, among others, are displayed.

The store is also available to users of the ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Enterprise versions – for companies with a large number of employees – and ChatGPT Team, a subscription plan for small work teams.

The firm has now announced that it has partnered with a group of American developers to test a new monetization format, with profits based on the use of GPTs, as reported on its website.

In this he also commented that, with this measure, he seeks to “foster a vibrant ecosystem where creators are rewarded for their creativity and impact and users have a wide range of very useful GPTs.”

OpenAI has clarified that it seeks to partner with these developers to “refine” its GPT monetization strategy, “recognizing and rewarding” those whose commitment has “enriched the system.”

At the moment, it does not support additional developers who want to be part of these tests. However, he has announced that he hopes to allow more creators to monetize their GPTs in the future.
