Instagram tests temporary templates to replicate video formats from other users

Instagram is testing a new tool called ‘Templates’, that will allow users to create new videos for their ‘Reel’ based on these formats from other content creators and that will integrate a temporary unit to synchronize the images with the sound.

In order to compete with TikTok the social network owned by Meta would be implementing this function in a beta test aimed at a small group of users, as confirmed by Business Insider.

Specifically, this feature would allow users to replicate video formats from other content creators and use them as templates to include their own audiovisual content in them.

This medium has collected the testimony of a user, call Josephine Hill which published a screenshot of the application interface at the end of last March.

In it, you can see several templates with different lengths of time (from 0.5 seconds to 2.4 seconds) to create and adapt your photos and videos and make your own publications.

In statements collected by Business Insider, Hill has acknowledged that, thanks to this feature, he will no longer be forced to go to other platforms to find tutorials and learn how to synchronize sounds with the frames of a video.

“One thing I’ve been specifically looking for with Instagram Reels is something that resembles TikTok’s audio sync, where the chips align perfectly to the beat of the music,” added this user, who has insisted that now the process of creation”It’s much smoother and easier to use.”

For its part, a spokesperson for Meta has pointed out that the company is always working “on new ways to simplify the creation of ‘Reels'”, although has not revealed when the ‘Templates’ option will be officially implemented.

Needless to say, expert reverse engineer developer Alessandro Paluzzi warned a version of this function in Instagram code last January. Then, he announced that Instagram was working on the ‘Use it as a template’ option, which would be included in the application’s ‘Reel’ menu.
