After yesterday’s incident with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mikael Margaryan was charged, the Investigative Committee informed Azat.
During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings, the criminal prosecution was initiated according to Article 297, Part 2, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code (committing hooliganism using information or communication technologies).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed “Azat” that the police arrested Mikael Margaryan for investigation.
In the video that made a lot of noise yesterday, Speaker of the Parliament Alen Simonyan also cursed, responding to Margaryan’s curse.
According to the report sent by the Police to the Investigative Committee, Margaryan “performed hooligan acts yesterday, in particular, openly disrespecting society and openly disrespecting moral norms, uttering curses and obscene expressions.”
The General Prosecutor’s Office was the one who sent the police report about the crime to the law enforcement officers, when Alen Simonyan and citizen Mikael Margaryan cursed each other.
Margaryan and another citizen were brought to the police, then released three hours later, subjecting them to administrative responsibility.
The chairman of the National Assembly, in turn, has been claiming since yesterday that there was an organized provocation against him.
