The outlet, which cites four American, Israeli and regional sources with knowledge of the talks, points out that the negotiations are being carried out through Pakistani, Egyptian and Turkish mediators; as well as through text messages exchanged between Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abas Araqchi.
The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagaei, assured today that Iran will not negotiate with the United States under the pressure of Trump’s ultimatums.
The diplomat assured, when asked about the supposed negotiations, that a ceasefire does not “mean a pause to regroup and rearm in order to continue the crime.”
“Our demand is the end of the imposed war, along with guarantees that this disastrous cycle will not be repeated,” he stated.
