Washington is demanding action from Iraq against armed groups linked to Iran

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau summoned Iraqi Ambassador Nizar Khirullah on April 9 to express the U.S. government’s strong condemnation of terrorist attacks from Iraq by Iran-linked armed groups against U.S. diplomatic personnel and facilities, including the April 8 attack on U.S. diplomats in Baghdad.

The deputy secretary emphasized that the United States will not tolerate attacks against US interests and expects that the Iraqi government will immediately take all necessary measures to eliminate armed groups linked to Iran in Iraq.
