Slovakia adopted the first Israeli air defense systems

The Armed Forces of Slovakia adopted the first battery of Barak MX multi-purpose anti-aircraft missile systems, acquired in December 2024.

Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinjak said that the battery has already been deployed at a classified facility near key energy infrastructure.

According to him, we are talking about the area where the country’s nuclear power plants “intersect”, which implies the protection of such facilities as Jaslovské Bohunice and Mochovce.

After deployment, integration of the system into the Slovak armed forces will continue for several weeks with the support of Israeli specialists.

The military personnel have already completed initial training and will continue to train as the system transition is completed.

In total, Slovakia should receive six batteries by 2030.
