Ghalibaf reaffirms Tehran’s intention to control the Strait of Hormuz

Iran is celebrating today the victory of Safavid Persia against Portugal in the Strait of Hormuz in 1622.

In this regard, Ghalibaf made a note in X, stating: “By controlling the Strait of Hormuz, (Iran) will secure for itself and its neighbors the precious happiness of a future free from American presence and interference.”

Earlier, a statement was issued on behalf of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. According to the 56-year-old spiritual leader, after the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28, a new page is being formed for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Before the start of the American-Israeli joint airstrikes against Iran, about 20 percent of the world’s consumed oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
