Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will arrive in Armenia to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit, the Turkish state “Anadolu” agency reports.
Turkey will represent Yilmaz at the May 4 summit in Yerevan.
“During the meeting, the steps to closer cooperation and coordination aimed at strengthening democratic resistance, expanding ties and strengthening economic and energy security will be discussed. The latest developments in the region and global issues will also be discussed,” the Turkish agency reports.
For a long time, it was not known who from Turkey would participate in the summit.
Yilmaz will be the first official of this level to visit. Armenia since the “football diplomacy” of 2008. President Abdulla Gul came to Yerevan at that time.
Nothing has been reported about Azerbaijan’s participation yet.
