A massive three-day illegal rave in central France ends with 33 intoxicated people and 600 fines

At least 33 people have needed medical attention in central France for drug poisoning, five of them urgently, and more than 600 have been fined by the authorities at the end of three days of a massive illegal party organized in the Cher department.

The Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, had to go to the scene to denounce a “totally illegal event” such as the Teknival electronic music festival at a shooting range belonging to the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), located between Bourges and Cornusse, and which brought together more than 40,000 people at its peak on Saturday afternoon.

It turns out that the organizers of the party deliberately chose Bourges as the setting because it is the hometown of Nuñez, who has been criticized on numerous occasions for its policies of repression against free macro events in France, according to ‘Le Figaro’.

“This situation is unacceptable. However, the State has intervened to guarantee the safety of the participants and local residents,” added the minister, already on social networks.

In any case, and to try to guarantee the health of those attending as much as possible, forty-five firefighters and thirty Civil Protection rescuers have remained stationed near the Teknival throughout the event, as reported by the prefect of Cher, Philippe Le Moing Surzur.
