IPYS of Venezuela says that “persecution” against journalists continues and demands an end to “censorship”

For its part, the National College of Journalists (CNP) of Venezuela reported this Sunday that it recorded 87 attacks against journalists and media between January and April of this year, a period marked by the United States attack in Caracas and the capture of Nicolás Maduro, which gave rise to the Government in charge of Delcy Rodríguez.

Venezuela occupies the last place among 23 countries evaluated in the Chapultepec Index of Freedom of Expression and Press 2025, according to the report released last March by the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), which analyzes the conditions for the exercise of journalism in the Americas.

Venezuela is, along with Nicaragua, one of the countries “without freedom of expression,” according to the report.
