Summit in Armenia, Europe tries to team up across borders

But what is the Canada at a European summit… in Armenia? It seems like a strange question, but it describes the moment we are living in well. In global disorder and in the new geopolitical geometry redesigned by Donald TrumpCanada led by Mark Carney is getting ever closer to Europe. And in fact he is the guest of honor at the eighth summit of the European Political Community, taking place today in Yerevan. A symbolic presence, but also a very concrete one. And Armenia? Hosting this summit is a strong signal of its rapprochement with the European Union. At the table there are around 50 leaders, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who after Yerevan will fly to Baku, Azerbaijan, a key partner for Italian energy. Meanwhile, the message here is clear: Europe is trying to work as a team. And it does so by widening the perimeter, even beyond its borders.
