“Rebirth of the V4”: Fico poses with Tusk and Babiš

Under Orbán, cooperation within the Visegrad Group, known as V4, had practically come to a standstill, which was due to the Hungarian Prime Minister’s pro-Russian stance. Fico and Babiš often acted in Orbán’s slipstream during EU votes on Russia sanctions and Ukraine.

Fico will take over as chairman of the Visegrad Group for one year on July 1st. Tusk said that the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskij could be invited as a guest to the next summit of the four states. Selenskij met with the Slovak Prime Minister in Yerevan. “We have talked about mutual visits to Kiev and Bratislava and our teams will coordinate the dates,” said Selenskij afterward. A joint government meeting is also planned, reported the Ukrinform news agency. Loud Selenskij Slovakia also supports Ukraine’s accession to the EU. “I’m grateful for that,” he said.
