US intelligence believes Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei plays a key role in developing the country’s military strategy along with other senior officials, CNN reported, citing several officials.
Sources say the US has been unable to locate Khamenei since he was wounded in the strike that killed his father. Since then, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public.
He remains in a safe location receiving treatment for severe burns to his face, arm, torso and leg, sources added.
