Carcass on Anholt: Another dead whale discovered on Timmy Island

Anholt (Denmark) – After the carcass of humpback whale Timmy washed up on Anholt Island on May 14, residents have found another dead whale. The animal was washed up on the other side of the Danish island, eyewitnesses told BILD reporter Matthias Hornung on site.

On the island in Kattegat, a part that covers the north and Ostsee connects, around 120 people live on 22 square kilometers. But within a short space of time, two dead marine mammals were stranded. Putrefactive gases continue to bloat Timmy

Timmy is now threatened with the same fate. The eerie thing: So far, there is no smell of decomposition on the beach – but inside the carcass, the putrefactive gases continue to expand the dead humpback whale. At some point the body will be torn apart by the pressure.

According to BILD information, it is not expected that Timmy will be removed from the beach by the Danish authorities before the beginning of next week. The dead whale will then be autopsied. If Timmy hasn’t burst by then…
