The Berlin meat wholesaler Hacilar Helal is building a new meat processing plant in Temnitzpark in Dabergotz (Ostprignitz-Ruppin) with an investment of millions. At the groundbreaking ceremony in the afternoon, the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics announced that the new plant would create around 150 jobs in the industrial area. The investment amount was given as around 40 million euros. The current company location in Berlin will also be retained. Hacilar’s customers include kebab producers.
The groundbreaking was preceded by a lengthy approval process, as stated in the announcement from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The property was sold to the family business in 2020. According to its own information, the cutting plant and wholesaler has a daily processing capacity of around 45 tons of poultry meat and 55 tons of beef, veal and lamb.
According to the announcement, Economics Minister Martina Klement (CSU) said: “I am very pleased about the new settlement in Ostprignitz-Ruppin, because the state of Brandenburg needs projects like this: that create jobs, are regionally anchored and have growth prospects.” The director of the Temnitz office and managing director of the Temnitz development company, Thomas Kresse, spoke of a major breakthrough for the development of the commercial and industrial area and a new perspective for the region.
