Russia does not intend to pay for the steps taken by Armenia towards European integration. Coming soon

Russia does not intend to pay for the steps taken by Armenia in the direction of European integration, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

“The question of where Armenia is going and with whom it will continue to build its political and state future is legitimate. But, we are not going to use the undeniable advantages and privileges that Armenia received from the membership of the Eurasian Economic Union, so that Armenia can use them to cover its expenses towards the European Union,” the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation told TASS.

At the highest level, Russia urges Armenia to quickly decide between the European Union and the EAEU, to hold a referendum on that issue. Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan joined the corresponding declaration at the Astana summit.

Yerevan emphasizes that it has no intention of leaving the EAEU, and respects the interests of Moscow.
